• Since some of the Jewish converts believed they were set right with God by the law, why does Paul go back to the examples of Abraham and David? 

• What is Paul’s point in stressing that Abraham was counted right with God before he was circumcised? 

• What do you learn about faith (or believing) from the example in verses 5:18-21? 

• How would you sum up the gospel from verses 5:23-25? 

• What can you learn from Abraham’s example to encourage you? 

• Who are some other biblical characters that you respect as examples of faith?    

Application Questions:

• Who are some Christians today that set the examples for you about trusting God? 

• Where are you being stretched in your ability to trust God’s promises?
