Opening Question / Icebreaker:

• What is the greatest material or financial gift you have ever received? 

Pray Together  

Read Romans 5:1-11 https://www.esv.org/Romans+5/ (cross reference to Romans 3:21-26 as desired)

Observation & Interpretation Questions:

• In your own words, what does it mean to be “justified by faith?” 

• What benefits are ours as a result of being justified? (see v. 1-5)

• How are suffering, hope and God’s love interrelated? 

• What does it mean that we have been reconciled to God?  (see v. 10-11)   

• How would you describe the relationship between God’s love and salvation? 

Application Questions:

• How does the peace of God that a Christian has through faith in Christ impact their everyday life? 

• Specifically, how do you connect to God’s peace in your daily life? 

Closing Activity:

• Share with the group three words (adjectives) you would use to describe salvation in Christ. 

Close in Prayer:
Pray for each other and pray for others you know who have not yet received God’s great gift of salvation through Christ.
