Observation & Interpretation Questions:
- Had you been there, what would you have seen, heard, and felt as the Corinthians observed the Lord’s Supper?
- How was the Lord’s Supper being distorted?
- What does Paul mean by self-examination in v. 28? What does he mean by judging ourselves in v. 31?
- Read I Corinthians 10:14-22 – how does this passage add to our understanding of the Lord’s Supper?
- How would you summarize the issues in the Corinthian church in regard to unity and the Lord’s Supper?
Application Questions:
- Remembrance, proclamation, and participation are three realities of the Lord’s Supper. How would you explain to a non-believer how the Lord’s Supper accomplishes each of these?
- What principles does Paul give to the Corinthians that apply to your life and to the life of the church?
Close in Prayer:
- Pray together – lift any praises or concerns of the group members up to God in prayer.
