Finance Team

Focus of this Ministry: The Finance Ministry provides an extra layer of accountability to BCC’s financial transactions. Members of this team work in rotating pairs to count and record each week’s physical offering.


Mission: Who can serve: Open to all adults after attending BCC for at least 6 months and having recommendations from staff, small group leaders, or other long-time BCC partners as to their ability to keep confidential things confidential.

Team Member Responsibilities (typical Sunday):

  • Meet up with another team member in the church office and wait for 5-15 minutes after the end of service before collecting the offering from the mailbox and drop boxes.
  • Sort, count, recount, and record the offering. This could take 15-30 minutes depending on how many gifts are received under how many categories.
  • Secure the offering in the safe. Shred any sensitive trash.

  • When Ministry is Performed:

  • Two Sunday mornings back-to-back at a time with several off weeks between depending on how many finance team members there are before your name is up again in the rotation.
  • Special events: As needed on a volunteer basis (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc.)

  • Time Requirements:

  • 20-45 minutes after church

  • Length of Commitment: ~3 months. Schedules are created quarterly. You may choose to no longer serve, take a quarter off, or serve as an alternate after completing your initial 3-month rotation.


    Training: Provided on-site and required before being assigned to the rotation.


    Responsible To: The Financial Secretary

    Maintenance Team

    Focus of this Ministry: Voluntarily oversee the operations and maintenance of Bridgetown Church of Christ. Communicate with the tenants in the building regarding the property related issues. Coordinates with the tenants and third parties to address maintenance and facility needs


    Mission: To maintain a safe, comfortable and clean environment for all who work, visit and attend Bridgetown Church.


    Who can serve: Open preferably to those with some basic skills and knowledge of basic hand and power tools.

    Team Member Responsibilities (typical Sunday):

  • Have good communication and people skills.
  • Maintain PM’s (preventative maintenance) walk-throughs and checks.
  • Check in with tenants for problems or needs.
  • May have to work with some outside contractors.
  • Monthly check in with the Lead pastor once a month for building issues.
  • Be on call for mishaps and unforeseen problems.
  • Check for work orders in the One Church app.
  • And other related duties.

  • When Ministry is Performed:

  • Preferably every two weeks to check in on the facility and with tenants
  • Once a month to do PM’s
  • On call for emergencies as needed.

  • Time Requirements:

    Maintenance jobs are hard to set a time frame to. Most of the time it’s day to day quick in quick out. But on those rare occasion it could be a long day.


    Length of Commitment: 12 Months


    Training: Provided on-site by other Maintenance Team member(s)


    Responsible To: The Maintenance Team Leader

    Missions Team

    Focus of this Ministry: Ten percent of all giving to Bridgetown Church of Christ is allocated to support various Christian missions around the world. The Missions Team is responsible for making decisions about how this money is given. We currently support seven organizations with regular monthly donations. These seven consist of international, national, and local missions. In addition, we offer support to various groups and individuals through special gifts. These gifts are determined by the members of the Missions Team. Our goal is to see that, through our giving and support of these individuals and organizations, God is glorified and His Gospel is spread.


    Mission: To partner with missionary organizations here at home and around the world; sharing the resources of BCC, to fulfill the Great Commission, and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.


    Who can serve: Open to all adults

    Team Member Responsibilities

  • Attend bi-monthly meetings
  • Offer input on requests for donations/support, manage the Missions Team budget
  • Keep the congregation informed of the Missions Team decisions
  • Provide opportunities to serve. Plan and organize mission events locally
  • Plan and organize larger-scale bi-annual mission trips

  • When Ministry is Performed:

  • Missions Team meets every other month on the second Sunday

  • Time Requirements:

  • Approximately 2 hours every other month

  • Length of Commitment: Varies based on team-members desire to continue serving in this role.


    Training: No defined training is required for this position.


    Responsible To: The Missions Team Leaders

    Office Volunteer

    Focus of this Ministry: Office volunteers are a crucial part of the daily routines of our ministers and staff. By performing the mechanical duties of running an office this volunteer allows each staff member to stay focused on their own areas of ministry. The Administrative Assistant is a paid staff member and therefor comes with a cost to the church. With the help of the Office volunteers the Administrative Assistant can be a part time position affording a savings that can go back into the community. This keeps the mission of the church alive. Which is to love our community and invite them into a life-changing relationship with Jesus.


    Mission: To assist the staff with extra hands and helps to create a focus friendly environment.


    Who can serve: Office volunteers are required to be a church member/partner for at least 6 months.

    Office Volunteers handle sensitive information and are expected to use discretion.


    Team Member Responsibilities:

  • Dress in casual but office appropriate attire (error on the side of conservative).
  • Extend a genuine greeting via your phone voice and or answering the front intercom/door
  • Distribute mail as it is delivered daily
  • Perform small office projects which may include stamping, mailing, laminating, binding, and any other help that the staff may need.

  • Biweekly
  • Weekly
  • Daily

  • Time Requirements:

  • 1-4 hours a week

  • Length of Commitment: 12 Months
